Policy Communications Clinic

Co-founders: Dr. Heidi Tworek & Kshitij Sharan

About

Policy intersects with almost every academic field. Research and knowledge production can have a greater positive impact if they are also communicated to non-academic audiences in the policy world. The CSDI Policy Communications Clinic (CPCC) helps students, staff, and faculty at UBC to plan and execute different forms of policy communication. This initiative is an important component of CSDI’s objective of ‘Training for the Future’.

In the 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years, CPCC offered a series of workshops and personalized consulting hours to help students, faculty, and staff communicate their research effectively for policy change. These were provided free of charge with the generous support of the UBC Knowledge Exchange Unit and UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Workshops

CSDI offers workshops on topics ranging from policy reports to communications strategies and writing op-eds.

Contact us if you are interested in CSDI running a workshop on policy communications for you.
