Social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok have played a major role in shaping public discourse and politics, interacting with journalism organizations, civil society advocates, artificial intelligence services, and other key players in the information environment. Our work on platforms takes an interdisciplinary approach to examine the online world and consider potential paths for regulatory reform.
