Project team: Veena Sriram, Betty Ackah, Peter Berman, Maxwell Cameron, Heidi Tworek, Trevor Corneil, David Patrick
- COVID-19 highlighted the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration and coordination in responding to public health emergencies; however, gaps exist in public health and public policy training programs in equipping trainees with skills to engage with policy processes and to work across sectors
- This project addresses this gap through two state-of-the-art teaching cases using real-world examples from COVID-19 that will build competencies for Canadian public health and public policy practitioners to engage in policy development, implementation, and communication at the interface between key stakeholders.
- Examples of cases include the development and implementation of the BC Vaccine Card program, and public health communication with diverse communities in BC during the Omicron wave.
