Join us for a discussion exploring how digital platforms, political actors, and social movements contribute to polarization and upheavals in online discourse, and how scholars, practitioners, and policymakers can navigate these challenges.
This event features Professor Thorsten Quandt (University of Münster), a leading international authority on digital media, and research associate Johanna Klapproth (University of Münster), in conversation with Professor Heidi Tworek (UBC). Using online vaccine discourse as a case study, the panel will examine comparative insights from Germany and Canada and discuss communication strategies in today’s highly polarized information environment.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
-
- Learn about methodologies for tracking and analyzing online discourse
- Examine links between online discourse and community dynamics across national contexts
- Engage in knowledge exchange with scholars from universities in Germany and Canada
Registration is required, and space is limited. If you are interested in attending, please register here.
